About this event

Now That’s What I Call Social Science!

Did you know that insects are as nutritious and delicious as they are cool? Tantalize your taste buds with adventurous bites created by Big Star’s chefs at Bug Bites on Tuesday, June 11th from 5 PM to 8 PM at Big Star West Town, 551 N Ogden Ave, Chicago.

While it is true that our periodical cicada friends are edible, we can’t serve them in a restaurant. So instead we will celebrate them with a feast of festive delights! Besides, we wouldn’t want to eat the guest of honor anyways.

At Bug Bites, you can sample delicacies like grasshopper tacos and ant mole— dishes inspired by world-class Oaxacan, Mexican cuisine. Have no fear, all of you Big Star favorites will be available too.

But what is a Field Museum social without a side of science? Our insect experts will join in on the fun bringing their live bug zoo, items from the collections, and other surprises for guests to enjoy at the restaurant and keep the bug love going.

The evening is first come, first serve or you can reserve a table ahead of time.
